Found footage

El found footage, traducido literalmente como "metraje encontrado", es un género cinematográfico donde uno o más personajes involucrados además de actuar son los encargados del rodaje, por lo que es visto en primera persona. Para darle más realismo, siempre usa movimientos inestables.

Desde el primer momento se consideran como falsos documentales (mockumentary), pero en algunos casos se ha llegado a dudar de su veracidad gracias a las campañas publicitarias previas a sus estrenos. Aunque es el género donde más se ha empleado, no es una técnica exclusiva para películas de terror.

Slasher (y II)

El slasher revivió a mitad de los años 90's, incluyendo todos sus tópicos, gracias al director Wes Craven (que ya había hecho su aportación en los 80's con Freddy Krueger) y al guionista Kevin Williamson. Con gran éxito comercial, se consiguió atraer a una nueva generación al género. Esto provocó inevitablemente que se rodaran secuelas y aparecieran nuevas sagas, incluso parodias como Scary Movie.
